Service learning is an integral part of all DE Programmes and often extends beyond the classroom halls and walls. Action frequently stems from our wonderful classroom work, and often a result of student inquiry. Over the course of the year, students have an opportunity to serve in the local and international community by participating in various action activities that help and support others and their environments. Examples include regular visits to local care homes or helping out at food banks and shelters, raising awareness and money to support or adopt an orphan from less privileged areas across the world.
The emphasis is on developing community awareness and concern, a sense of responsibility, and the skills and attitudes needed to make effective contributions to a local and global society.
